A floor standing boiler is exactly that, a boiler which stands upright on a floor surface rather than being mounted mid air on a wall.
A storage combi (combination) boiler functions just like a regular combi, by blending a property's central heating and hot water production into one efficient body, however they store hot water inside an integrated cylinder, rather than taking it directly from the mains.
This key component allows properties that may not have the space for a bulky external hot water cylinder, but have a high hot water demand, to store pre heated water efficiently while eating up no unnecessary space.
The internal hot water cylinder makes a storage combi the perfect boiler type to service a home with more than one bathroom.
A fusion of methodical technological design and crafted engineering allows the Vitodens 222-F to have a very low level of noise pollution due to its quiet operation volume, meaning this boiler isn’t disruptive, no matter its location in the property.
The Vitodens 222-F can store upto 100 litres of water within its loading cylinder, making sure the highest hot water demands can be met efficiently and quickly, even in smaller properties.
This component’s maximum modulation allows for an extremely high flame stability, providing a reduced fuel consumption. Also An integrated component called the Lambda Pro Plus combination controller permanently ensures clean and efficient combustion.
The corrosion resistant stainless steel Inox-Radial heat exchanger provides extremely durable support and allows for a more energy efficient performance.
The Vitodens 222-F has a new E3 platform with 7” colour touchscreen display for convenient and easy use. Also this enables wireless communication via the Vitotrol and ViCare apps on a smartphone or tablet to control temperature regulation and automatically notify an engineer upon fault detection.
The 222-F has built in frost protection technology to avoid weather related component seizes or failures, reducing the need for costly maintenance or replacement.
Yes, this particular boiler is extremely efficient, in fact the manufacturers Viessmann claim it to be 98% efficient in terms of converting fuel to heat. This is an extremely high efficiency rating even in today's landscape of super efficient modern combi boilers.

New boilers can be a daunting purchase for many people as they’re an appliance with a lot of responsibility, providing heat for you and your family is something you want to get right. Boilers aren’t exactly a quickly disposable item either, potentially lasting you a decade.
Effectively, new boiler cost can be split into two segments: the first is the actual boiler itself (unit price), and the second is the cost of the boiler being installed (set up) in your property by an expert engineer.
Here at iHeat, we remove all of this undue stress and make the decision making process of upgrading to a new heating system, as easy as possible.
New boiler costs can vary depending on a number of factors including their brand, model, fuel, output, warranty, labour and boiler installation type. Typically a new boiler will cost between £1,845 and £3,500, below is a list of average boiler installations offered by iHeat (guide only).
Installation Type | Price (inc VAT)
Combi to combi swap | £1,845
System to combi conversion | £2,499
New boiler install | £2,899
Back boiler to a combi | £3,299
System to system | £1,945 |
The Vitodens 222-F is an extremely capable storage combi unit. Its hybrid combi and system functionality make it ideal for homes with high hot water demand but limited space. While it sits at the higher end of the price scale, the quality components and efficient design make it a reliable choice from a globally respected brand.
At iHeat, we don’t currently supply the Vitodens 222-F, as we focus on wall-hung combi and system boilers that are better suited to most UK homes. However, we do stock a wide range of Viessmann models, including the Vitodens 050-W and 100-W — some of the most popular and efficient boilers on the market.
With next-day Gas Safe installation, up to 10-year warranties, and our price match guarantee, you can upgrade to a trusted Viessmann boiler quickly and hassle-free. Get a free instant quote today and find the right model for your home.
