Yes, battery storage can be installed without solar panels. With a suitable electricity tariff and system configuration, you can charge from the grid during cheaper periods and use that electricity later.

Compare daytime, overnight and standing charges before changing tariff. The benefit depends on how much electricity you can shift, the difference between rates and charging losses. If you plan to add solar later, tell us so it can be considered in the design.

We need to review your panels, inverter and any existing battery before confirming how SigenStor would fit into your system. An existing battery or inverter should not be assumed to work with new equipment.

Start with your daily electricity use and when you use it, rather than your number of bedrooms. Electricity bills or smart-meter usage can show how much energy you could store and use each day.

SigenStor has a modular design, but adding capacity is still a design decision. Check the model, usable capacity, controller output and space needed. kWh measures stored energy; kW measures power output. A larger battery does not automatically mean every high-power appliance can run together.

Backup must be specified as part of your installation. A grid-connected battery alone does not guarantee power during an outage. The design needs suitable backup equipment, such as a compatible Sigen Energy Gateway, and an agreed circuit arrangement.

Tell us which appliances you want to keep running. Runtime depends on the available charge and the load, while the system output limits what can run at once. Confirm the backup equipment, supported circuits and price in your proposal; do not assume they are included in every package.

A battery can help you buy less electricity at expensive times by storing solar generation or cheaper off-peak electricity. There is no single saving or payback period that applies to every home.
